Canada Exonerated of American Claims of Manipulating Skeleton Qualifying Event
Canada's skeleton athletes have been absolved of charges that they rigged a selection race for the upcoming Games, which allegedly denied rival athletes a chance to secure their place.

A prominent American athlete a five-time Olympian accused the Canadian squad of pulling four of its six entered athletes from a recent event in New York. She claimed this reduced the field, making fewer qualifying points available. Despite winning the event, the American athlete failed to earn her qualifying position for the 2026 Olympics.
“Existing federation regulations allow member nations to withdraw athletes from an event at any time,” stated the governing body.
Following an investigation, the IBSF announced it would take no action, dismissing the complaints as no rules were broken of its regulations.
